Mary Alice Scott, AKA Alice to her friends, Mom to her kids, Grandma to her grandkids, and once as "Ass" from a nameless child who couldn't pronounce the "l" in her name (but just once) ;-), was raised in Duryea Pennsylvania with her two sisters and brother. Duryea is most famous for being the home of the Topps Baseball factory where her mother worked. Her parents were Francis Paul Granahan and Anne Winifred Coxe.
She received her diploma in Nursing from Nesbit Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Kingston, Pennsylvania and left to pursue her nursing career in Washington DC. With her marriage she traveled to many interesting foreign locales and had wonderful experiences. She had three children, heretofore known as the triumvirate, Jodi, Rob, and Greg. Side note: These kids would eventually pull their resources and leverage their assets to rule the world. While raising her three children and pursuing a rich and varied nursing career, Alice returned to school to continue studies for a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Today, she works as a Nurse Manager at Loudoun Healthcare's Long-term care facility in Leesburg, Virginia. In her free time she focuses primarily on spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren Stephen and Sarah. Hobbies include reading about Irish History and mythology, and listening to traditional Irish music (read: not U2), and editing funny internet text written about her by her youngest, most handsome, and smartest son. She is also a huge and unwavering Washington Redskins Fan (but only when they're playing well) unlike most everyone in the family who stick by them.
